Good Living

Many peoples of Latin America defend the concept of the good life, as opposed to "better" Western neoliberal logic, as a way of life or development more just, sustainable and more environmentally friendly.
The good life is, however, much more fair, instead of advocating the continued growth where many have to "live wrong" a few "live well", seeks to achieve a system that is in balance. Rather than stick almost exclusively on data pertaining to Gross Domestic Product and other economic indicators, the good life is guided by achieving and securing the necessary minimum, enough so that people can lead a simple and modest, but dignified and happy .
To emphasize that the good life would be inconceivable without the community. Just the good life breaks to counter the logic of capitalism, its inherent individualism, the monetization of life in all its fields, its dehumanization. Although its implementation stage of the field is ideal, where the political articulation of the good life in modest but happy and self-sovereign communities is easier, there are also attempts to bring the good life in cities with district assemblies search common areas of socialization, urban gardens, time banks, consumer cooperatives, etc..
Finally, we should mention that the good life claims the balance with Mother Earth and ancient knowledge of indigenous peoples to her. Born deep knowledge of the connection and interdependence we have with nature, the good life and its commitment to small-scale development, we find a positive and necessary to ensure a decent life for all while ensuring the survival of planet.
The good life has to do with all aspects of life, not just to the defense of Mother Earth, or the harmonious relationship of mother earth with man. The good life has to do with good food, with good sleep, with good dancing and celebrating, because the work is a joy and not a punishment.
Mindful of our reality we must live well, live and conscious appropriately for the psycho-physical benefits it brings, knowing that excesses are always exponentially against the rest of society, nature, and like a boomerang, finally , against oneself, engendering inequality, imbalance and violence in all orders of individual life, social, and natural.
